Description
Jouer (“to play” in French) marks a transition point in my work where I have felt heavy at my easel and in my work for too long, and now is a time for remembering to loosen up, to explore, and to have fun and play again. I am remembering to find joy in the process again, both in the painting and in my life. I listened to a lot of jazz while painting this piece, often on sunny days with light beaming into the room. It will always remind me of the summer of 2025, and it is a meaningful start to a new chapter in my career.
Each print is produced using giclée fine art printing, representing the pinnacle of quality and precision. Printed on acid-free, pH-neutral Hot Press Bright paper with archival pigment inks, every detail and hue of the original 30 x 30” painting is faithfully preserved, ensuring museum-quality longevity.
The original painting will be featured in the Rutherford Arts Alliance fundraiser auction, with 30% of proceeds supporting local arts initiatives; a reflection of the artist’s ongoing commitment to arts advocacy and community engagement.
Jouer invites collectors to celebrate the joy of creation; a timeless piece that brings light, rhythm, and refined color to any space.
